Cleveland State Community College is an open door, comprehensive community college located in southeast Tennessee which offers programs leading to certificates and two-year degrees (Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science). In addition to its credit programs, the College provides non-credit courses and specialized training for area business and industry. As a small commuter college serving a predominately rural service area, ground courses are offered on its main campus in Cleveland, and its instructional sites in Athens and Madisonville. Extensive course offerings and programs also available online.

CLSCC offers many types of financial aid: Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work Study, Academic Competitiveness Grant, Federal Family Education Loan, Subsidized/Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, and a PLUS Loan.

Transfer Application Requirements

Minimum GPA:
The GPA of all courses taken at other schools should be at least equal to the progressions standards of Cleveland State Community College. Students not meeting this criterion may be admitted on scholastic probation.
Official Transcripts:
The submission of official transcripts from EACH college or university attended and from high school if the total college credit hours are less than 60 are required.
SAT/ACT Scores:
Transfer students whose ACT/SAT scores demonstrate appropriate levels may be exempt from parts of the COMPASS test. Only ACT/SAT scores less than 3 years old will be used to determine exemption status.
Other Requirements:
Transfer students who have successfully completed a college-level English and/or mathematics course are exempt from the academic placement (COMPASS) test.
