    Christian Brothers University, founded in 1871, is a Catholic institution of higher education in the tradition of the Christian Brothers. It is the largest private, comprehensive university in West Tennessee, emphasizing excellence in teaching and individualized attention to the whole person. The University prepares students for professional careers and lives of moral responsibility. The first private institution in Memphis to integrate, it always has welcomed people of all faiths.
