Examination of Italian cinema from 1930 to the present focusing on feature films, documentaries and, depending on the topic of the course, on literary works in light of political, cultural, and social contexts. Films are shown in Italian with English subtitles. Writing-emphasis course. (See ITAL 422.) Repeatability: May be repeated. Maximum 6 hours. Comment(s): Open to non-majors. Majors will read texts and write papers in Italian.
