Introduction to major concepts in the study of Islam from a historical and cultural perspective. Addresses the diverse ways in which Muslims have experienced, interpreted, and put into practice the message of the Qur’an transmitted by the Prophet Muhammad. Topics will include: the life of the Prophet Muhammad, Islamic, Sufism, ritual and practice, theology, art and literature.(Same as Asian Studies 332.)
