This course offers an introduction to philosophy by exploring questions relevant to studies in the arts, language, and literature. Students will contemplate the limits of human knowledge, our responsibilities to other beings, the nature of good and evil, and qualities underlying aesthetic criticism. Classical, modern, and contemporary sources from civilizations both East and West will inform conversations meant to enlarge understanding of self and world. Learning Outcome: Self Knowledge. Prerequisite: ENGL 111.
