This course is designed to focus on quality improvement, information integrity, information governance, and clinical documentation improvement in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis will be placed on implementation of a quality improvement model, tools, techniques and activities of acute care hospitals, hospital outpatient and emergency departments, ambulatory care settings, and other healthcare facilities. Leadership and team building skills will be promoted. Quality improvement as it relates to policies and procedures for use of data required to ensure organization compliance with regulations and standards will all be addressed. Prerequisites: HIMT 1301, HIMT 1305, HIMT 2309
