This in-depth course consists of lectures, case studies, demonstrations and hands-on projects that expose students to the history of sound production and its impact on society. The course traces the developments from the early wax cylinder to secret sound levitation devices. Throughout the course, the role of sound production will highlight monumental moments in history, innovations in technology, impact and development of the entertainment industry, mass media and its cultural interchange within social institutions.
