Fall Semester. Class hours 2. Mastery of rhythmic patterns incorporating triplets and duplets using rhythmic syllabication. Singing and Aural recognition, retention, and replication of melodies incorporating diatonic and nondiatonic pitches. Aural recognition, retention, and notation of standard chord progressions and cadence patterns. Basic improvisation with primary performance medium over tonic, predominant, and dominant harmonies. Corequisites: MUS 2710 Musicianship III and MUS 2730 Musicianship Lab III.
