This course introduces the basics of renewable energy technologies, including an introduction to solar thermal, solar photovoltaic (PV), bioenergy, hydroelectricity, wind energy, wave and tidal energy, geothermal energy and the integration of these alternative forms of energy into the existing power systems. Each topic will cover the basic principles, current technologies, costs, environmental impacts, integration, and future prospects of the alternative energy source under discussion. Hands-on work with selected alternative energy technologies will be provided as available. F
