Prerequisite: GEOG 1010, GEOL 1040/1041; Description: Natural hazards are examined, including: thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, drought, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides, collapse, subsidence, floods, and wildfire. Emphasis is placed on the interaction between people and the physical process. An analysis is made of the human perception of disasters as well as preparedness and recovery planning.
