The study of building envelope construction, plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and sustainable energy design is included. Knowledge acquired in this course is necessary to provide the sixty appropriate hours and sufficient knowledge in the Interior Design curriculum for graduates to qualify to take and pass the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam and the National Kitchen and Bath certification. Both certifications are an important step in credentialing for the interior design profession.
