This course is intended to advance beginning welding skills with an emphasis on three prevalent welding processes. Power sources,electrode identification, weldability of metals, joint design, oxyacetylene cutting, and an introduction to Shielded Metal Arc Welding(SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) are covered. Activities include learning to weldstringer and weave bead, butt and fillet welds in the flat and horizontal positions.; class 2 hours, lab 6 hours.
