Description:
Prerequisites: Junior standing or permission of instructor. Explores the paradigm of trauma informed care and examines working with individuals across the lifespan that have been exposed to trauma. In addition, the course provides an understanding of the pervasive nature of trauma and identifies ways of promoting recovery rather than re-traumatization. Theoretical models for assessing vulnerability trauma stress reactions, trauma symptoms, for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and their treatment are discussed.
