This course is an introduction to the key concepts of disaster preparedness for responding to a communitycrisis. The course focuses on building and applying the higher-level leadership skills required for effectiveleadership skills in a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). With attention to basic disaster responseskills, the students will learn about fire safety, light search and rescue missions, terrorism, leadership skills forteam organization, and basic disaster medical operations.
