Description:
This course provides a survey of the diverse forms of life and the evolutionary processes leading to this diversity. The course highlights representative members of living systems, characteristics, importance, and their interconnected relationships. Ecological interactions between organisms and the environment with a focus on environmental problems and their solutions will be addressed. Structure and function of the human organism, and the impact of our personal choices on our health and wellness, as well as the environment, will be considered. The course is for the student not majoring in biology, and includes three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory applications each week.
