This course is designed to move students toward the production of short creative nonfiction of publishable quality. Students will present their own work to their peers to be critiqued and will be responsible for critiquing the works of others. Students will also be expected to read creative nonfiction collections and works on craft as assigned. There will be required common as well as independent readings in contemporary creative nonfiction. Prerequisite: ENGL 3760r, ENGL 3750r, ENGL 3740r, or ENGL 2700 or department head approval.
