This course is designed to further student’s understanding and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as of their own impact on their communities through an approach of critical thinking, self-reflection and professional development. Students will be challenged to mold themselves in to Autism-confident individuals by utilizing conversation and personal experience as a guide and catalyst for personal and professional growth. Lastly, students will engage in focused conversation with the intention of building an Autism confident community at UTC while preparing them to be strong advocates for ASD and for themselves after leaving school. This course is typically offered in spring semester.
