Examines disease from biological, physiological, and sociocultural perspectives. The culture-history of each disease provides the context in which diseases first appeared and how they were experienced by individuals and the cultural impacts of certain diseases, especially infectious diseases, on communities. Laboratory sessions are designed for hands-on examination of the signatures of diseases discussed in lecture.
