Prerequisite: None; however, a previous course in world history or philosophy is recommended;Description: This course is a survey of the development of religions from tribal cultures to present day societies. This course provides the student with a general knowledge of the major religions that exist in the world today as well as an understanding of their origins, development, and adaptation to present day social and political situations. In addition to these major religions, this course will provide an insight into past religions and spiritual thinking and analyze how they influenced religious thoughts that persist to this day.
