An introduction to Earth and its environments in the context of humanity. The course will provide the geologic foundation for discussions of climate change, air and water pollution, water resources, food and energy production, and mineral resources. Focus will be on impacts to natural systems that are required to sustain life on Earth, and the economic and social benefits of Earth's resources. The course will appeal to students who have cross-cutting interests in a variety of fields. Satisfies General Education Requirement: (NS).
