This course is introduces the student to topical subjects of the respiratory care patient to include basic healthcare reimbursement, medical ethics, polysomnography, home care, pulmonary function testing, microbiology, cleaning and sterilization, and use of chest tubes during emergency situations.

PREREQUISITE:RESP 1310, RESP 1399, RESP 1420, and RESP 2445

COREQUISITE:RESP 2300, RESP 2446, and RESP 2499

HOURS: 30 lecture hours per semester

Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs. This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
