This course is designed to give students an opportunity to conduct advanced chemical research and is intended to introduce students to all phases of peer-reviewed scientific research. The student may be expected to develop a written proposal, pursue the research to some state of completion, and/or to have completed an off-campus research program. The student is expected to keep a detailed lab notebook. The project may be concluded with a written report and/or a presentation to the campus community in a seminar format. This course can be repeated for up to 9 hours total, though only 3 hours can count toward chemistry electives.
