This course will examine the Bible, in both the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) and the New Testament, as a significant work of literature that has had an immense impact on Western culture and beyond. In this course we will learn about the Bible as a literary artifact and the methods used to study it ( exegesis ). We will also appreciate the Bible's influence upon great works of literature and film.
