Enhances development of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to function as a registered nurse. With continued emphasis on assessment, students plan and implement interventions and evaluate outcomes to assist diverse individuals across the life span that are experiencing alterations in health. Content focuses on alterations in fluid/gas transport, psychosocial, elimination, nutrition/metabolism, and growth and development functions. The concepts of safety, management of care, and informatics continue to be integrated. Students apply a clinical decision making process in caring for pediatric and adult clients in acute care and community based settings, with a concentrated experience in women’s health, perinatal nursing, and care of the client with altered psychosocial function.
