This course is an introduction to basic self-defense skills, escape and avoidance strategies, offensive and defensive postures, defensive techniques and simulated attacks. The course includes an exploration of violence prevention and victim abuse community services. The course addresses basic fitness principles, including strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. Fitness principles are addressed specifically in terms of the student?s ability to practice and perform self-defense skills. This course is repeatable for credit.
