Prerequisites: SPAN 3313 or SPAN 3513 or permission of instructor. SPAN 4747/5747 studies the impact of Islamic Spain, or Al Andalus, on modern Spanish culture. This course requires a four-week stay in Spain, including visits to relevant sites and attendance at cultural events such as film screenings, plays, lectures or festivals.
