This is an introductory course in land surveying. Emphasis is on the basicsof field and office work. Topics include errors and accuracy, bearings,azimuths, leveling, coordinate geometry, tranverses, topographic mapping,area, volume, construction surveys, radial surveys and introduction to use ofdata collectors. Laboratory exercises explore the use of the steel tape,automatic level, transit, theodolite, and electronic distance measuringdevices. PREREQUISITE: MATH 1730
