An introduction to the theory and practice of the different conventions of science writing. Practice in the analysis and writing of scientific reports and supporting materials such as abstracts, proposals, and research reviews. Emphasis on the challenges of communicating within a specialized audience as well as translating specialized language for general audiences. Fall and spring semesters. Prerequisite: ENGL 1020 with a minimum grade of C or department head approval.
