Description:
This is the final research course in the social work program. In this course, students will complete the research project initiated in the previous semester, as well as complete a series of in-class lab assignments designed to reinforce basic statistical skills. To finalize their research projects, students will finish collecting data, prepare data for analysis, analyze research data, and prepare a final research manuscript. In addition to guidance on the senior research project, this course provides instruction on using SPSS (a statistical software package), solving statistical problems, analyzing data, and interpreting analysis results. Different types of statistical tests and analysis are covered in this course. Students will participate in a formal research showcase to present their research project and findings. Prerequisites: SOCW 3760 and SOCW 4170 with a minimum grade of C or department head approval. Social Work course fee will be assessed.
