4 sem hrs cr (3 hours lecture-3 hours laboratory)This course is a study of micro-organisms, especially bacteria, with emphasis on cytology, morphology, physiology, genetics, medical aspects, and cultural techniques. Laboratory experiments are designed to familiarize the student with microbiological techniques, cultivation, isolation, identification of bacteria and other micro-organisms. Strongly recommend BIOL 1110 prior to BIOL 2230.Prerequisite: Exemption from or completion of learning support competency courses OR with permission of the Curriculum Chair.(Formerly BIO 2310)
