This course addresses the problem of juvenile delinquency and youth crime with emphasis on the history of the juvenile justice system, the court and police role within the system, rehabilitation and correction of the delinquent, and juvenile probation services. Alternatives to traditional procedures such as community-based programs vs. correctional institutions, and non-judicial and judicial adjustment are examined. Prerequisite: Exemption from or completion of ENGL 0810 and READ 0810(Formerly CJA 2120)
