A study of chemical, physical and biological processes in nature and how human dependence on these systems is compromised by our activities. Lecture and laboratory activities provide instruction in such topics as resource management, nutrient cycles, biomes, ecosystems, air and water quality, climate, human population growth, soil conservation, and waste management. (This course satisfies the three hour natural science requirement for AAS career education programs such as Paralegal, Criminal Justice, Business Management, and Contemporary Management.
