This is the initial training course in the art of pre-hospital emergency medical care that follows the guidelines set by the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.). First Responders are individuals trained to assess patients, use AED's, provide emergency care, and move patients without causing injury. Successful completion of this course enables the student to sit for licensure examination given by the National Registry of EMT. (Prerequisite: Students must have a current Health Care Provider level CPR card.) (Combination lecture/lab 2 hours lecture/2 hours lab per week)
