Prerequisite: BIOL 3110. A survey of microorganisms of medical importance, with emphasis on the bacteria and viruses. Principles of infectious diseases, including diagnostic methods and treatments. Laboratory exercises demonstrating methods of isolating and identifying pathogenic microorganisms. Students enrolled in the 5000-level course will be required to complete additional work as stated in the syllabus.
