Prerequisite: CEE 4420 (5420) (Engineering Hydrology) or consent of instructor. Theory and techniques of remote sensing and their application to environmental analysis. Microwave, infrared, passive and active techniques on orbiting and geostationary platforms. Multi-sensor analysis, current and planned satellite missions, radar altimetry, estimation of precipitation, soil moisture, discharge, land use and land cover. Scale and uncertainty issues.
