Fundamentals of Paramedic I is the first of two lecture courses to include the following topics: paramedic roles, responsibilities, workforce safety, wellness, public health, communications, documentation, EMS operations, medical/legal considerations, anatomy and physiology, life span development, general pathophysiology, general pharmacology, patient assessment, critical thinking, airway management, respiratory emergencies and introduction of cardiology. Prerequisite: Admission to the Paramedic Program. Corequisites: EMSP 1401 and EMSP 1311.
