With continued emphasis on assessment, the focus of this course is on planning, implementing, and evaluating strategies to promote, maintain, and restore optimum health for pediatric clients from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds experiencing variations and alterations in life functions. The course revolves around nursing, nursing process, and pediatric clients experiencing variations or alterations in life functions: fluid/gas transport, elimination, nutrition/metabolism, genitourinary, sensory, activity, and protective. Health promotion, legal-ethical issues, therapeutic communication techniques, and management strategies specific to the care of the pediatric client are incorporated into the plan of care for pediatric clients. Pre-requisite: NURS 1050, 1051 Co-requisite: NURS 2071
