Nashville State Community College is an open-admission comprehensive educational institution, serving a very diverse student population and a broad geographic area. Outreach programs and special services for sub-populations include first-generation students, adult students, and English as a Second Language students. The college offers the Associate of Applied Science technical and career degrees, and the Associate of Arts, the Associate of Science, and the Associate of Science in Teaching transfer degrees. Nashville State has over 80 programs of study covering broad areas including business, applied arts, information and engineering technologies, health sciences, social and life sciences, math, science, humanities, and the arts.

Scholarships and Financial Aid:
A variety of federal, state, and local financial aid programs are available to qualified students who might otherwise find it difficult or impossible to attend Nashville State Community College.

In-State 12 hours per semester 2,032.50; Out-of-State 12 hours per semester 8,020.50.

Adult Degree Completion Programs:
Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) and Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree Tennessee Transfer Pathways are offered. Some Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) may be eligible for transfer.
Technical/Vocation Credit Accepted:
Some credit is accepted and will be determined upon receipt of Official Transcript.
Credit for Prior Learning:
Portfolio Assessments, Institutional Challenge Exams, Institutionally-Evaluated Training or Credit, ACE-Military, ACE-Workplace, CLEP, ACT, AP.

Transfer Application Requirements

Minimum GPA:
GPA is not considered for Admissions.
Official Transcripts:
Submit transcripts from all previously attended institutions. Students may also be required to submit an official high school transcript or official GED/HiSet score report.
SAT/ACT Scores:
Applicants under the age of 21 should submit ACT or SAT scores. ACT/SAT/COMPASS scores are used to determine in which areas the applicant may be required to complete college prep course work.

Submit a completed Application for Admissions and a $20 non-refundable application fee.
Interviews are only required in majors that have separate applications (i.e. Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Surgical Technology).

Transfer Credit Policy

Minimum Grade:
NSCC transfers in all courses; however only courses with a minimum grade of D may count toward the program of study unless otherwise specified.
Credits (Min/Max):
You must earn at least 25% of credit hours required for the degree through instruction delivered by NSCC.
