Northeast State Community College is an open-access, public, comprehensive community college serving Carter, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington Counties in Tennessee. The College provides over 90 programs of study leading to associate and certificate degrees along with courses and events that address the workforce development and lifelong learning needs of the community. Support services are provided to all students, of which a significant number are first-time freshmen, low income, and/or adult students.

Financial Information

Scholarships and Financial Aid:
To be considered for Federal and State funding, students must complete and submit a Free Application for Student Aid, (FAFSA) each academic year.
Tuition and Fees:
Full time (12 credits) in-state: $147 per credit hour, $31 per semester fees, $12 per credit hour fee, maximum $113; Full time (12 credits) out-of-state: $608 per credit hour, $31 fee per semester, $12 per credit hour fee, $113 maximum

Student Services Extended Hours:
Evening Services Extended Hours: When classes are in session the office of Evening Services is open Monday through Thursday from 12-8:30 p.m. during Fall and Spring semesters, and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Transfer Application Requirements

Minimum GPA:
The applicant's grade point average must be at least equal to that which Northeast State requires for readmission of its own students. Applicants who do not meet the college's standards may be admitted on academic probation.
Official Transcripts:
Upon the receipt of all college transcripts, the Admissions and Records Office will evaluate the student's coursework. High school transcripts may be required for complete analysis of transfer credit.
SAT/ACT Scores:
Northeast State does not require a minimum SAT or ACT score for admission. However, SAT or ACT scores must be received for students to be placed in the appropriate level of courses.
Letters of Recommendation:
