The objective of this course is to acquaint students with epidemiology as a scientific discipline and to facilitate the students¿ understanding of the role of epidemiology in health service planning and administration. Emphasis will be placed on methods employed in current epidemiologic studies of chronic diseases, public health, vital statistics, environmental sanitation and communicable disease control on a local, national, and global basis.
