The course focuses on introduction to the profession of nursing, specifically, critical thinking, test-taking skills and selected nursing theory. An overview of the nursing process and health assessment will be presented. Discussion of concepts related to cultural issues will be included. Skills basic to nursing practice theory and application will be introduced. Selected laboratory experiences will provide opportunities for mastery of basic clinical nursing skills. This course is open to all majors in the university (Formerly NURS 250). Pre-requisites: NURS 1100, BIOL 2210/2211, BIOL 2220/2221, BIOL 2400/2401, CHEM 1110/1111, MATH 1110, ENGL 1010, and ENGL 1020.
