Everyday Italian is for those who love the language, culture, history, fine arts and distinctive lifestyle of the Italian people. Its primary focus is on Italian culture, including everyday language, historical figures, the arts and design; values, beliefs, customs, and cultural expectations; economics, government and political perspectives; and geographical background. The course is designed to prepare students to negotiate travel and entertainment uses of the language. Using a communicative language approach, the class provides real-life scenarios, role-play situations, and repetition of useful expressions rather than formal grammar instruction.
