The purpose of this course is to provide a study in the types of radiation and their properties relative to reactor design. Factors and processes relative to the control and operation of a pressurized water reactor will be introduced. Basic reactor startup, shutdown, and emergency operating procedures will be covered. This course will cover many of the primary systems found in ACAD 90-016. Safety, trouble shooting, human error prevention tools, human performance tools, and communication skills will be emphasized.
