Use of computer-aided drafting and mapping from surveyed field data, familiarization with hardware and software available for surveying and mapping computations and drafting, data storage and output from data collectors used in surveying, use of total stations, robotic equipment, and GPS, to produce field-to-finish projects. Principles and history of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) and GPS (Global Positioning System); structures of GNSS signals; sources of GNSS errors; mission planning; online positioning user service (OPUS); various methods of GNSS data collection (static and Real-Time Kinematic); use of continuously operating reference systems (CORS) and receiver independent exchange format (RINEX); differential GNSS (DGPS); post-processing and network adjustment; integration of GNSS into GIS; other GNSS systems.
