This course will build on the principles introduced in MIS 450- Database Development and Administration. Students will focus on efficient query processing and indexing techniques for relational, spatial, temporal and multimedia databases. In particular, efficient and scalable algorithms for clustering, association rule discovery and classification of very large datasets will be discussed. Data mining, data warehousing and security will also be addressed. Prerequisite: CS 450. CS 355 is suggested. Spring, every third year.
