This course is an introduction to the principles of modern Geology,emphasizing the origin, composition, and evolution of the solid earth.Rock-forming minerals, igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks, rock andhydrologic cycles, plate tectonics, earthquakes, landform development andgeologic time are covered. The course includes identification and descriptionof minerals and rock samples, and use of topographic and geologic maps.PREREQUISITE(S): Placement level of college ready in reading and math.
