A systematic and regional survey of Latin America and the Caribbean. Topics include Latin America issues, physical environments, aboriginal and colonial geography, agricultural, population growth and migration, the Latin American city, mining and manufacturing. The regional analysis focus on Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, Andean American, Brazil, and the Southern Cone. The unique perspectives of Latin Americans will be traced from pre-culture through language, films, music, and food activities. Every third semester. Prerequisite: GEOG 1030 or GEOG 1040 or department head approval.
