Introductory concepts of sets, functions, equivalence relations, ordering relations, logic, methods of proof, and axiomatic theories with topics from combinatorics, graph theory, or abstract algebra. Fall and spring semesters. Prerequisite: MATH 1920 and MATH 1921 with minimum grades of C or department head approval. This course is a prerequisite for Mathematics 3250, 3500, 4720, 4270, 4200, 4050, 4000 and 4010. Mathematics majors should enroll in it at the end of the sophomore year or beginning of the junior year.
