  An introduction to the college experience for first-year students at UTC and the aspects needed for a successful transition from high school to college. The mission of the Communication department is to provide strong preparation in both communication practice and research, based on a firm grounding in the liberal arts. This elective is available to students with fewer than 30 earned hours, and is recommended during the initial semester for students who enter UTC with fewer than 15 hours. Students enrolled in this course will earn one hour of graded, elective credit. Offered every Fall semester. Open to Freshmen.
