How do studies of DNA and genomes impact our understanding of what it means to be human? What have ancient DNA studies recently revealed abut past and present human relations? This course covers the intersection between genomic science and anthropology. Learn basic population genetics and the molecular (lab) techniques, and discuss relevant themes, such as species and interpopulation relationships, migration and dispersals, personalized genomic testing, gene editing, epigenetics, identity, and ethics.(RE) Prerequisite(s): 110 or 117, and BIOL 101 and 102 or BIOL 113, 114 and 115 or BIOL 150 or equivalent.Recommended Background: Biology 240 or equivalent.
